The DC Radio Show was proud to work alongside, and interview Singer/ Country picker Sean Burns on the Norwegian Star! Sean worked as soloist on the same ship as Dave, when Dave was in the Nightwatch band with Andrew Rosario, Vincent Presite, and Kristy VC on the Star. Sean, from Oshawa, Ontario has been steadily blazing his own trail as a country artist with a rockabilly sensibility. He’s touring both in homeland Canada and the US. His album “Glimpse Through Storyboards and Situations” was released originally in 2010. He has a band page @seanburnsmusic on Facebook. Sean has actually a total of five releases on I-Tunes, the other four are 2010’s “The Other Side of 25,” 2013’s “Cold Beans and Broken Eggs,” 2014’s “Rocket Ships and Lemon Trees,” and recently 2018’s “Music for Taverns, Bars and Honky Tonks.”
Sean spoke of swinging when he’s winning, and keeping his own band intact while dealing with personnel changes. Sean also runs his Boots and Saddle radio station, CKUW 95.9 FM in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He isn’t the easiest guy to work with, but he claims to have had 30 different players working with him over time. His style is a product of his favorites, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac, as well as the great Johnny Cash. He plans to do small festivals. Breakup and heartache are littered in his lyrical themes. I had a few stories of my own to share in band breakups.
His homeland support group includes working with his father, who plays guitar on Sean’s records, he still plays, and has been a big influence in the Burns music scene. Sean has been supplementing his work by doing the winter cruises.
